About Famille Descombe: Spanning 5 generations since 1905, Vins Descombe is now in the hands of Sylvie and Florent Descombe. They have returned to their family roots with the acquisition of two domains: the Château de Pougelon, and the Domaine Passy le Clou.
The Crozes-Hermitage vineyard is the largest of the northern appellations with more than 1,200 hectares. It covers 11 villages in the Drôme department on the left bank of the Rhone River. The Crozes-Hermitage appellation was founded in 1937.
Vinification : Only manual harvest, vinification by plot. Temperature controlled during the fermentation. Long vatting time, to 4 and 6 weeks. Aged in new oak barrels of 600 L for 12 months.
Description:
Intense, ripe fruits, floral (violet), spicy (pepper), oaked (grilled, toasted), fresh. Powerful and elegant wine with fine tannins, wine complex, fresh and open.
