Description
About Famille Descombe: Spanning 5 generations since 1905, Vins Descombe is now in the hands of Sylvie and Florent Descombe. They have returned to their family roots with the acquisition of two domains: the Château de Pougelon, and the Domaine Passy le Clou.
Description: Great value French Pinot from Burgundy family Descombe, displaying wonderful varietal characters and early drinkability. There’s no oak at all here, with cool fermentation and extended maceration in stainless steel to accentuate fruit characters and focus on freshness. This Bourgogne Pinot Noir is a meticulous blend of different terrors of the Côte d’Or.
Appropriately light in body and garnet red in colour, the nose is packed with attractive red and black fruits, raspberry, blackberry and cherries to the fore along with elegant floral characters. The palate is bright and lively, a natural acidity and soft tannins providing the structure for a fruit-focused mid palate, with gentle hints of leather, prune and tobacco providing savouriness through to the finish.
