About Château Chasse Spleen: Located in the Moulis appellation, in the heart of the Médoc, Château Chasse-Spleen was founded in 1720. Its name “Chasse-Spleen,” acquired in 1863, is inspired by Anglo-Saxon culture and Baudelaire. The estate has been managed since 2000 by Céline Villars. Château Chasse-Spleen boasts a beautiful terroir on a gravelly outcropping in the Grand Poujeaux area.
Description: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Château Chasse-Spleen 2019 offers a subtle vanilla nose with deep aromas of cherries, blackberries and blackcurrant, also revealing withered rose petals. The attack of this 2019 vintage is fresh and full-bodied. The palate is voluminous and supple, with velvety tannins and some new wood at this early stage. This great Bordeaux wine is very long and persistent. The 2019 Château Chasse-Spleen will reach its peak in 2025 but can easily age until 2045.
