About Chateau Brane-Cantenac: Renowned for producing wines of remarkable elegance and finesse, this estate is an emblem of quality and excellence in the world of fine wine. Located in the appellation of Margaux, was acquired in 1922 by the Lurtons, a family of wine merchants who also own Chateau Margaux Durfort-Vivens. Brane-Cantenac wines are typical of Margaux and its characteristics are expressed though the refinement and elegance of its silky tannins. The vineyard covers 75 hectares of vines resting on a gravel limestone soils and are planted with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
Complacency has no place at Brane. Tradition must be matched with forward thinking and a constant hunger for improvement. Recent investments in an entirely new winery and significant upgrades to machinery mark a concerted effort to improve quality while simultaneously reducing their ecological footprint. Continuous experimentation in the vat room and cellar ensures that they are at the cutting edge of modern winemaking. Elegant and aromatic, Chateau Brane-Cantenac wines are both complex and well-balanced, destined to be kept for many years to come.

“The 2020 Margaux de Brane is a plush, succulent, Margaux to drink now and over the next handful of years. It’s a gorgeous wine at this level. Spice, blood orange, and mint give this mid-weight, open-knit 2020 tons of energy to play off its ripe, racy fruit.” (Antonio Galloni)
