About Bodegas Baigorri: Is located in the town of Samaniego and at the foot of the mountains “Sierra de Cantabria”. A glass box perfectly integrated into its surroundings emerges from a privileged location in Rioja Alavesa. Baigorri executes a meticulous selection in their vineyards. They apply a rigorous selection process, fruit of their know-how and the observation of the vineyards. The grapes for their wines come from sustainable growing, in harmony with nature and thanks to the use of traditional and modern ways. Grown from old vines, deeply rooted in the native land and culture, providing the wines with a unique quality. They are harvested by hand and processed in a very meticulous way, in order to turn the genuine flavour of nature into wine. The high quality of the wines come directly from the vineyard and it is clear reflection of the soil, the climate and the tradition of the Rioja Alavesa.
Winemaking: 90% Tempranillo, 5% Garnacha, 5% indigenous varieties. After a manual picking, all the grapes are hand-selected using vibration and selection tables. Long macerations and intracellular fermentations with indigenous yeasts in conic stainless-steel tanks. Natural extraction by gravity. 14 month ageing in French and American oak barrels.
Description : Deep cherry-red colour. Aromas of freshly picked black fruits and spices; complex and seductive. Elegant, silky and fruit driven on the palate; nice freshness. Long and intense finish.
